Job summary

Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled CAMHS clinician to join the North Somerset team in Weston-super-Mare. You will conduct specialist assessments and provide evidence-based treatments for children and young people with complex mental health needs, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification leading to registration with a professional body (e.g., Mental Health Nursing, Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Child Psychotherapy or other).
• 2 years post-qualifying experience in mental health nursing or equivalent.
• Masters level therapy qualification if not included in the professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out specialist assessments and provide treatment for young people with significant mental health difficulties in the community.
• To be highly skilled in clinical risk assessment and management for children and young people.
• Offer evidence-based interventions to children, young people and families according to NICE guidance.
• Hold and manage a caseload, using resources creatively to provide interventions tailored to service users.
• Work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary CAMHS team, providing leadership.
• Liaise with Education, Social Services and Voluntary Sector to coordinate and develop services.
