Job summary

Lorien is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer in Edinburgh or London for a 6-month initial contract. The role offers a competitive daily rate via Umbrella. You will design agentic AI systems, build scalable data pipelines with Spark and Python, and develop models for autonomous reasoning and execution.

You will work with data engineers, researchers, and platform teams to ensure robust deployment, and explore multi-agent and reinforcement learning techniques in a modern distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of AI/ML engineering or data-intensive systems experience.
• Strong Python proficiency for AI, ML, and data engineering tasks.
• Deep experience with Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala-based).
• Hands-on modelling intelligent agents, including symbolic, neural, or hybrid approaches.
• Experience deploying workloads on MCP or distributed processing environments.
• Familiarity with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, or Ray is a plus.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop agentic AI systems across diverse data sources and workflows.
• Implement scalable data processing pipelines using Spark and Python.
• Build, train, and fine-tune AI/ML models for agent reasoning and execution.
• Integrate solutions with MCP servers or equivalent architectures.
