Job summary

Stour Surgery in Christchurch, Dorset is recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly, supportive team in this newly created role. The ANP will work closely with GPs and the nursing team to expand clinical services and improve access to timely patient care.

Key duties include autonomous assessment, diagnosis and treatment, independent prescribing, managing chronic disease plans, and safeguarding patients.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber on the NMC register.
• Has evidence of working at an enhanced level, in Primary Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, specialist nursing care to patients.
• Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Independently prescribe appropriate medication, evaluate or refer to other specialists.
• Implement and evaluate individual specialised treatment plans for chronic disease patients.
• Identify, manage and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions.
• Be aware of duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and safeguarding.
