Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Pre-Operative Assessment Service in Plymouth. You will assess, optimise and prepare patients for elective surgery, working autonomously with consultants and nursing teams to deliver high-quality perioperative care.

The role requires an MSc in ACP, an active Independent Prescriber qualification, and current registration. The position offers a competitive salary and a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse / AHP with current professional registration.
• Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (MSc ACP).
• Independent Prescribing Qualification (V300) with prescribing within scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking advanced clinical assessments and making autonomous decisions regarding patients' fitness for surgery.
• Requesting, interpreting, and acting upon diagnostic investigations to support patient optimisation.
• Developing and implementing individualised care plans to reduce perioperative risk and improve patient outcomes.
• Working as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient surgical pathways.
• Providing expert advice and education to patients regarding surgical preparation, perioperative risks, and recovery expectations.
• Leading and supporting quality improvement initiatives through audit, data analysis, and patient feedback.
• Supporting the development of evidence-based practice, clinical guidelines, and service improvements.
• Providing teaching, mentoring, coaching, and clinical supervision to colleagues across the perioperative pathway.
