ARM is seeking a Workshop Manual Technical Author to join our automotive documentation team at Gaydon, Warwickshire. You will develop and deliver high-quality workshop manuals, service procedures, owner guides, and dealer support materials, blending engineering data with clear customer-focused writing.

Ideal candidates are graduates with hands-on automotive workshop experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to produce precise, validated technical content for service technicians and networks

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive workshop experience is essential.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate technical content.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CAD data and engineering drawings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and document vehicle service and repair procedures using engineering data and CAD models.
• Collaborate with engineers and service teams to define repair methods.
• Develop workshop manual content and repair procedures for technicians and dealer networks.
• Estimate and validate service times using standard timing methods.
• Create 3D visuals and animations for manuals and training materials.
• Publish and maintain documentation in digital service information systems.
• Conduct validation activities to ensure accuracy and timing of methods.
• Develop owner-focused repair guides for routine maintenance tasks.
