Job summary

UTAC in Leyland, Lancashire, is seeking a vehicle technician to support driveline product performance and durability testing for motorsport, automotive and commercial vehicle customers in a 24/7 testing environment. The role involves installing samples, monitoring tests, and carrying out routine maintenance with training provided.

The successful candidate will have a time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, basic electrical wiring skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in a test laboratory, automotive repair or heavy truck maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and install samples on test rigs (transmissions and e-drive units).
• Complete basic Test Automation Setup and Configuration – training provided.
• Follow Test and Operational risk assessments and safe procedures.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping of facilities.
• Provide basic facility diagnostics and resolution.
