Job summary
UTAC in Leyland, Lancashire, is seeking a vehicle technician to support driveline performance and durability testing for automotive and commercial customers. You will install, run, and monitor test samples, and participate in the 24/7 testing environment.
The role offers training, a hands-on environment, and opportunities to learn new skills while working with a competent team of engineers and technicians. A time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent is preferred, with manual handling
Qualifications
- Time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Experience in a test laboratory or automotive repair preferred.
- EV/HEV experience desirable but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and install samples on test rigs.
- Complete basic test automation setup – training provided.
- Follow risk assessments and safe working procedures.
- Maintain and clean facilities and equipment.
- Diagnose basic facility issues and provide resolutions.
- Support 24/7 driveline testing operations.
- Travel and on-site heavy lifting as required.
