Job summary

Dovetail & Slate in Preston is recruiting two Lecturers in Automotive Technologies to deliver engaging teaching from Level 1 to Level 3, designing practical and theoretical lessons that reflect current industry practice. You will plan, deliver and assess programmes, build industry links to boost employability, and act as a course tutor with pastoral and academic support responsibilities.

Ideal candidates hold Level 3 qualifications in Motor Vehicle / Automotive Technology (or HGV) and a teaching

Qualifications

• HGV experience is highly desirable for one of the two posts.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one within timescale.
• Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths (GCSE C/4 or Functional Skills Level 2).

Responsibilities

• Teaching, learning: plan, deliver and assess Automotive Technology programmes across levels with practical workshop activities and e-learning.
• Curriculum development: design coherent schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with industry standards and awarding organisations.
• Student support: act as course/personal tutor, set targets, monitor progress, manage behaviour, provide pastoral and academic support.
• Industry engagement: develop links with local employers and enhance student employability.
