Job summary

City of Portsmouth College is seeking an Automotive Technician at its Highbury Campus. You will provide technical support and maintain workshop facilities, enabling practical sessions and learner development.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

  • To manage stock levels and order materials as needed.
  • To ensure the workshop area is kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times.

Job Title: Automotive Technician

Location: Highbury Campus

Salary: Full Time Equivalent £25,210.25 - £26,133.56 per annum

Hours of work: 37 Hours per week, up to 52 Weeks per year, Full-Time, Temporary until October 31 2026

About The Role

The Automotive Technician is responsible to the Curriculum Manager for providing technical support and maintenance for the workshop facilities. Team working and communication with an overall approach that values people will be of key importance.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide technical support for the workshop, including setting up equipment and materials for practical sessions.
  • To maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working order and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • To assist in the preparation and maintenance of teaching aids and resources.
  • To support teaching staff and students during practical sessions, offering guidance and technical expertise.
  • To manage stock levels and order materials as needed.
  • To ensure the workshop area is kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you
