Ashby Finance Ltd is seeking an experienced stamping die toolmaker to support a major automotive manufacturing operation in Castle Bromwich. In a high-volume press shop, you will maintain, repair and improve complex stamping dies to ensure optimum production performance, quality and uptime.

This contract role is inside IR35 with opportunities to go permanent. The Umbrella PAYE rate is £40.12 per hour, reflecting senior tooling expertise and a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven automotive tooling experience in stamping dies and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tooling specifications.
• Experience with fault-finding, repair and tool improvement techniques.
• Experience supporting high-volume production environments and press tooling up to 50 tonnes.

Responsabilités

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on stamping and press tooling.
• Diagnose tooling issues and repair to minimise production downtime.
• Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild complex press tools.
• Support continuous improvement to improve tool reliability and quality.
• Conduct tool try-outs and assist with tooling modifications.
• Liaise with production, maintenance and engineering to resolve issues.
• Ensure work complies with health and safety procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
