Job summary

Ashby Finance Ltd in Northamptonshire is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our specialist automotive manufacturing team. The role focuses on repair, fabrication and restoration of vehicle bodywork using thin-gauge steel (1-2mm) with a range of traditional and modern metalworking techniques.

You will cut, shape and form panels, fabricate replacement sections and ensure exact fit and high-quality finish. MIG welding experience is essential; day-shift with overtime available.

Qualifications

• Experience shaping, forming and repairing thin-gauge metal (1–2mm)
• Strong hands-on metalworking skills and attention to detail
• Ability to fabricate accurate repair panels and panels to required profiles

Responsibilities

• Cutting, shaping and forming thin-gauge sheet metal
• Fabricating replacement panels and metal sections
• Repairing damaged vehicle bodywork
• Dressing, finishing and manipulating panels for correct profile
• Producing accurate panel shapes, curves and contours
• Ensuring excellent panel fit, alignment and finish
• Working from patterns and specifications
• Using hand tools and metal-forming equipment
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship
