Job summary

Apex Recruitment is seeking an experienced Stamping Die Toolmaker to support a major automotive manufacturer in Castle Bromwich. Working in a high-volume press shop, you will maintain, repair and improve stamping dies to maximise production performance and uptime.

This inside IR35 contract offers a 3-shift rotation with umbrella PAYE at £40.12 per hour, and opportunities to go permanent. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling reliability, safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive stamping/tooling maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tooling specifications.
• Experience with high-volume press tooling and tooling modifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on stamping and press tooling.
• Diagnose tooling issues and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild complex press tools.
• Support improvement activities to enhance tool reliability, quality and productivity.
• Conduct tool try-outs and assist with tooling modifications and engineering changes.
• Liaise with production, maintenance and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
