Job summary

The Wyant Group is seeking an Automotive Journeyperson for Jubilee Ford in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful candidate will join a high‑performance service team, performing diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson: Valid Journeyperson Certificate in Automotive Service or equivalent certification.
• Experience: Previous dealership or automotive service experience as a licensed technician required.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diagnostic systems, vehicle electronics, and mechanical repair.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to perform precise, high-quality work while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Team Player: Works well in a collaborative environment and contributes to a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough diagnostic inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and performance issues and repair engines, transmissions, brakes and electrical systems.
• Complete regular maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks to meet high standards of quality and safety.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair vehicles; stay updated on hybrid and electric systems.
• Explain vehicle issues, repairs and solutions clearly to service advisors and customers.
• Collaborate with technicians and service advisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely repairs.
• Ensure all work meets manufacturer and dealership standards; perform post-repair inspections and road tests.
• Mentor apprentices and share knowledge within the service department.
