Job summary

Apex Resource Management Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer in Woking, Surrey, on a 6-month contract. You will support quality objectives in a high-performance automotive manufacturing environment, leading quality-related production changes and driving continuous improvement across operations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deploy robust Control Plans, PFMEAs, and inspection standards, while mentoring operators and coordinating audits to ensure product conformity and

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing quality/process engineering.
• Strong understanding of automotive processes and quality systems.
• Experience with Control Plans, PFMEAs, and inspection standards.
• Experience conducting process audits.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Proven problem-solving using 8D, DMAIC, PPS, 5 Why and Ishikawa.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP and Lean.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve robust Control Plans using PFMEA.
• Create and maintain process documentation for inspection, verification and validation.
• Coordinate LEG-SOS requirements with production relevance.
• Support operator training for process changes.
• Develop torque audit plans aligned to build, process and quality needs.
• Coordinate torque audits and ensure timely completion across departments.
• Document non-conformances and drive actions to resolution.
• Manage Manufacturing Quality-owned QCRs from assignment to closure.
• Utilise statistical analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support Engineering, Corporate Quality, Logistics and Launch teams to achieve quality deliverables.
• Lead Manufacturing Quality Change Requests with assessment and verification.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing quality.
