Job summary

BMW Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the effective use of maintenance principles and maximise facility availability. You will troubleshoot electrical systems, interpret schematics, and support to resolve quality and efficiency issues on high-volume automotive production lines.

Responsibilities include identifying and rectifying faults, maintaining safe work practices, and documenting breakdowns and warranty returns in appropriate systems.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in electrical discipline required.
• Technical apprenticeship in Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical recommended.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to fault-find electrical systems and read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the electrical and maintenance systems keep the facility running with high availability.
• Proactively identify potential malfunctions to minimise downtime and impact on production.
• Fault diagnosis and corrective actions on electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Provide hands-on technical support to resolve quality, efficiency, and complex problems.
• Use Health and Safety systems to record breakdowns and manage related processes.
