Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Master Technician to lead complex diagnostics and support the workshop team. You will diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, service and repair to high standards, mentor apprentices and stay at the forefront of automotive technology, including hybrid and electric vehicles.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent.
• Experience as Master Technician or Senior Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
• Knowledge or experience with Hybrid/EV is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a wider workshop team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults across vehicle systems.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work to high standards.
• Ensure a high level of quality and first-time fix.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians; provide technical guidance.
• Provide technical feedback and resolutions through manufacturer platforms.
• Stay at the forefront of automotive technology including Hybrid/EV.
• Lead by example and promote best practice.
• Complete Vehicle Health Checks and identify extra repair opportunities.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and repair records.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
