Job summary
Autotech Recruit is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician for a leading automotive retailer in Newbury, Berkshire. The role involves diagnosing and repairing complex faults, servicing vehicles and providing detailed diagnostic reports, in a professional workshop environment.
Salary is £37,000–£52,000 with uncapped bonus and OTE. Mon–Fri 8:00am–5:00pm; benefits include ongoing training, career progression, 30 days annual leave, pension and life assurance, employee assistance, staff
Qualifications
- Proven diagnostic and fault-finding expertise, especially with electrical systems.
- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC or equivalent in automotive studies.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance per manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Perform detailed vehicle health checks and provide diagnostic reports.
- Conduct air conditioning servicing and repairs.
- Complete MOT-related repairs and general workshop tasks.
- Investigate and rectify electrical faults with diagnostic tools.
- Carry out welding repairs when required.
- Source and order parts to complete repairs efficiently.
- Liaise with customers and provide updates on repairs.
