Job summary

GTG Training Limited in Paisley offers a Modern Apprenticeship to gain SCQF Level 6 in Vehicle Body Repair. You will work full time in a garage workshop, earning while you learn and applying theory in a real automotive environment.

You will attend the training centre for week block release and regular assessments in your workplace to ensure you acquire the necessary skills to complete your apprenticeship. Driving licence preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Must have or be working towards National 4 or above in English, Maths and a Science or Technical Subject.
• Apprentices must be able to work full-time in a garage environment and follow instructions.
• Successful applicants will be keen to learn and start a career in automotive body repair.

Responsibilities

• Work within the garage workshop on repairing accident damaged vehicles.
• Learn chassis alignment techniques, panel repair and replacement, welding, and prep for painting.
• Assess vehicle damage and decide whether to repair or replace bodywork based on initial evaluation.
• Remove damaged panels and relearn trimming, refitting, and finishing panels.
