Job summary

LabGenius Therapeutics in London seeks an Automation Scientist to spearhead automation design, development, and optimization for antibody discovery. You will work across synthetic biology, automation, and ML to accelerate high-throughput screening and integration with wet-lab practices.

You will build and optimize automated workflows, train scientists, and collaborate with Software Engineering and Data Science to turn lab results into actionable insights, while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, biotechnology, chemistry) with industry experience in assay development or screening.
• Experience setting up, running, and maintaining liquid handling systems.
• Experience automating biological processes and high-throughput screening.

Responsibilities

• Develop, run, and maintain automated workflows in a lab setting.
• Support and train scientists to use automated workflows.
• Work with multiple liquid handling platforms ensuring precision and reproducibility.
• Design experiments to improve efficiency of molecular biology and protein production, purification, and screening.
• Prepare assay-ready plates and run routine cell-based assays.
• Translate wet lab processes into insights with data pipelines in collaboration with software/data teams.
• Develop automation scripts and integrate with platforms, maintaining protocols and reports.
• Interpret results and recommend subsequent experiments or optimizations.
• Stay updated on lab automation and molecular biology advances.
• Uphold high standards of accuracy and work under deadlines and occasional weekend hours.
