Job summary

Vantage Consulting in Reading is seeking a Proposals Engineer to shape automation solutions for diverse industries. Hybrid working and a salary of up to £60k plus car allowance reflect the role's technical depth and customer-facing nature.

You will collaborate with clients, design control architectures using PLCs/SCADA/HMI, prepare detailed proposals, and work with engineering teams to ensure feasible delivery. A solid background in systems integration and hands-on automation is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, or related field.
3+ years in control systems integration, automation engineering or technical sales.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Full UK driving license or legal authorisation to drive in the UK.

Responsibilities

Represent the culture and values of the business internally and externally.
Collaborate with customers to understand automation and control requirements across industries.
Attend and complete detailed site surveys to ensure proposal accuracy.
Review technical scoping information to generate robust solutions.
Design and propose control system architectures using PLCs, SCADA, HMI.
Prepare detailed proposals, cost estimates, and scope-of-work documents.
Deliver product and system presentations to clients, including live demos.
Work with engineering and project management teams to align with delivery capabilities.
Travel to customer sites and industry events as needed.
