Automation Experts is seeking a Proposals Engineer to bridge technical automation knowledge with customer engagement. You will understand client requirements, survey sites, and craft robust proposals covering PLC, HMI/SCADA architectures and industrial networking.

• 3+ years' experience in controls integration, automation engineering or technical sales.
• Experience within a systems integrator environment.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, HMI and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of control panels, instrumentation and industrial communications.
• Experience with Rockwell, Siemens or Schneider technologies.
• Understanding of full automation project lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for customer engagement.
• Structured, commercially aware approach to preparing technical proposals.
• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites.

Responsabilidades

• Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure proposals are practical and deliverable.
• Keep up to date with automation technologies, standards and vendor solutions including Siemens, Rockwell and Schneider.
• Support the sales team with opportunity management, CRM and pipeline forecasting.
• Attend industry events and trade shows to promote solutions and develop market knowledge.

Are you a Controls Engineer who enjoys the technical side of projects but also likes working with customers and shaping solutions? We're working with an established automation and systems integration specialist delivering control and digital solutions across a range of industries, including utilities, food & beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical, chemical and manufacturing. With a growing project pipeline, they're looking for a Proposals Engineer to join the team, combining your automation knowledge with customer engagement, solution design and technical proposals.

£60000 - £65000 + Car Allowance, Pension, Health

This is a varied role where you'll work closely with customers and the internal engineering team to understand requirements, develop automation solutions and turn them into technically robust proposals.

Proposals Engineer - The Role:

• Work with customers to understand their automation and control requirements

Proposals Engineer - The Person:

We're looking for someone with a genuine automation / controls background, ideally gained within a systems integration environment, who wants to use that technical knowledge in a more customer-facing role.

• 3+ years' experience in controls integration, automation engineering or technical sales
• Previous experience working within a systems integrator
• A good understanding of PLCs, HMI and SCADA systems
• Knowledge of control panels, instrumentation and industrial communications
• Experience with technologies such as Rockwell, Siemens or Schneider
• An understanding of the full automation project lifecycle, from concept through to delivery
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage with customers at different levels
• A structured and commercially aware approach to preparing technical proposals
• A willingness to travel regularly to customer sites for surveys, meetings and presentations
• A full UK driving licence

Located in Berkshire, this role would be commutable from Oxford, Basingstoke, High Wycombe, Slough and Aldershot.
