Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Burnley is seeking an Engineering Assistant to help keep our new automated distribution centre running smoothly. You will work with Engineers and Operations on maintenance of warehouse equipment and control systems.

This full-time, permanent role features a 4 on/4 off 12-hour shift, a salary up to £30,000 per year, and a benefits package including pension, private medical and dental insurance, and more. NVQ L1 desirable; hands-on problem-solving required.

Qualifications

• NVQ L1 working towards L2 mechanical engineering is desirable.
• Previous experience in a similar environment.
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work calmly and effectively within a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Engineering team with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of automated warehouse equipment.
• Respond to equipment issues and assist with fault identification and resolution.
• Carry out routine inspections, checks and preventative maintenance activities.
