Pioneer Selection is seeking an Automation Engineer for a key role in Coalville. The position focuses on PLC, PC, and controls fault‑management within a top-tier automated distribution centre.

You’ll be the technical focal point for the shift, ensuring critical equipment remains operational, optimised, and continuously improved in a high‑paced factory setting. The role requires hands‑on maintenance expertise, PLC modification capability, and a strong background in electrical and mechanical

Qualifications

• Multi‑skilled maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Capable of modifying PLC programmes.
• Hands‑on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast‑paced factory.
• Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go‑to technical specialist for the shift team to ensure operationally critical equipment is maintained, optimised, and continuously improved.
• Fault‑find PLC issues and support planned and reactive maintenance.
• Contribute to safety, reliability, and performance improvements across the automation systems.
