Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and improve automated systems in an injection moulding and assembly environment. You will lead automation projects, support new technologies, and drive efficiency, quality, and safety improvements.

You will work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Tooling and Maintenance to troubleshoot issues and ensure equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with injection moulding and related automation systems.
• Strong PLC programming and industrial control systems knowledge.
• Experience with FANUC robotics integration.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• IQ/OQ/PQ validation experience.
• Lean Six Sigma considered a plus.
• Project management experience considered a plus.
• Solidworks CAD experience considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing solutions for moulding and secondary assembly.
• Support integration of robotic systems, conveyors, inspection equipment, and material handling.
• Lead automation projects from concept through validation and production release.
• Provide technical support for automated production equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop preventative maintenance strategies for automation equipment.
• Ensure processes meet cycle times, quality, and productivity targets.
• Participate in DFMA reviews and assist with IQ/OQ/PQ validation.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE and reduce scrap.
