Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking an Automation Maintenance Engineer to join our night engineering team at the highly automated fashion distribution centre in Crick. You will maintain performance, reliability and availability of cutting-edge automation, troubleshooting faults and implementing improvements to keep the operation moving 24/7.

The full-time, permanent role follows a Panama pattern (2-2-3 or 2-3-2) from 19:00 to 07:00, with a salary of up to £54,000 per year plus 24 days’ leave, pension,

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with automation, conveyors, sortation systems or material handling equipment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience in fast-paced operational or manufacturing environments.
• NVQ Level 3/ONC or equivalent.
• Proactive problem solving with safety and reliability focus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automated warehouse equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Complete root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance.
• Accurately record maintenance activities and ensure safety standards compliance.

Working in a fast-paced operation, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the performance, reliability and availability of cutting-edge warehouse automation technology. From investigating faults and restoring equipment to supporting long-term reliability improvements, you'll help ensure the operation continues to deliver for our customer around the clock. This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in high equipment uptime and wants to work with advanced automation systems in a dynamic logistics environment.

This is a full time, permanent position working in the Panama shift pattern of 2-2-3 or 2-3-2 from 19:00 to 07:00

• A proactive approach to problem solving with a strong focus on safety and reliability
