Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc in Northampton is seeking an Automation Maintenance Engineer for a 4 on 4 off schedule (8am–8pm). You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance of site automation tech to meet KPI targets and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate holds City & Guilds Level 3 mechanical engineering and 18th Edition Electrical, with experience of warehouse automation including AGVs, conveyors and sorters, plus strong verbal and written communication.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds /NVQ Level 3 mechanical engineering and 18th Edition Electrical.
• Experience with warehouse automation solutions including AGVs, conveyors and sorters.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Support QHSE to ensure risk assessments and SOPs remain compliant.
• Root cause analysis of automation breakdowns and provide timely repair solutions.
• Develop and maintain uptime on automation equipment and schedules.
• Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative and corrective maintenance.

Are you currently an engineer looking for that next step? Perhaps you are already an Automation Maintenance Engineer looking for a new challenge?

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for two Automation Maintenance Engineer's to join our team in Northampton. As the leading engineers on-site, you will complete preventative and corrective maintenance of site automation technology, in line with contract KPI's and customer requirements.

This is a full time, permanent position, working hours of 4 on 4 off 8am to 8pm.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Support the site QHSE team to ensure risk assessments and standard operating procedures (SOPs) remain effective and compliant
• Root case analysis of automation breakdowns and provide timely repair solutions/corrective actions to ensure minimal disruption to the operation
• Develop and maintain up time on automation equipment, maintain to the daily, weekly and monthly schedules
• Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative and correct maintenance

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• City & Guilds /NVQ Level 3 mechanical engineering & 18th Edition Electrical
• Previous experience within a similar environment, working with warehouse automation solutions including Automated Guided Vehicles, conveyors & sorters
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
