Job summary

Hunter Selection | B Corp™ is seeking an Automation Engineer for an established manufacturing site in the Bromyard area. You will maintain and improve automated production systems, ensuring equipment reliability and peak performance across the site.

You will program and support PLC, HMI and SCADA systems, conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement. A degree in engineering and strong PLC/HMI/SCADA experience are required.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing or similar industrial environments (FMCG, packaging, etc.).
• Strong PLC programming skills with Siemens, Allen-Bradley or equivalent.
• Experience with HMI and SCADA systems.
• Solid understanding of electrical control systems, drives, sensors and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, fault-find and optimise automated production equipment.
• Program, modify and support PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support new equipment installations, commissioning and automation projects.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity and performance.

The Role

Reporting into the Engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving automated production systems, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, fault-find, and optimise automated production equipment.
• Program, modify, and support PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
• Support new equipment installations, commissioning, and automation projects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and performance.

Requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, food & beverage, recycling, or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
• Experience working with HMI and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems, drives, sensors, and instrumentation.
