Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is seeking an Automation Support Engineer for a modern FMCG site in Skelmersdale. The role focuses on automation improvements, fault-finding and preventive maintenance across high-speed production lines to maximise uptime and efficiency.

Working Monday–Friday days, you will support reliability and production performance within a fast-paced FMCG environment, with long-term growth and development opportunities on offer.

Qualifications

• Electrical fault-finding in an industrial environment.
• Experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory.
• Automation experience within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Job Role of the Automation Support Engineer.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Automation Support Engineer to join a modern, high-tech FMCG manufacturing site in Skelmersdale. You will be responsible for carrying out automation improvements and projects on the production lines and machinery, fault-finding, and planned preventive maintenance on a range of automated and semi-automated production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Working on a Monday - Friday days based role, you will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting production performance across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Automation Support Engineer

• Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Hands on experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast paced industrial factory.
• Experience within an automation support role

Requirements for the Automation Support Engineer

• Hands-on electrical fault-finding experience.
• Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Automation experience within similar environment
• PLC fault-finding experience .

Desirable Requirements for the Automation Support Engineer

• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
• Previous experience within FMCG, food, beverage or packaging environments.
