Job summary

Pioneer Selection is recruiting an Automation Support Engineer for a modern FMCG site in Skelmersdale. You will carry out automation improvements and projects on production lines, performing fault-finding and planned preventative maintenance on a range of automated and semi-automated machinery to maximise uptime.

Working Monday to Friday days, you will help reduce downtime, improve reliability and support site production performance, with exposure to advanced automation and career development

Qualifications

• Electrical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Hands-on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory.
• Experience in an automation support role.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out automation improvements and projects on the production lines and machinery.
• Fault-finding and planned preventative maintenance on a range of automated and semi-automated equipment.
• Ensure maximum uptime and efficiency in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Working on a Monday - Friday days based role, you will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting production performance across the site.

• Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Hands on experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast paced industrial factory.
• Experience within an automation support role.
• Experience within manufacturing environment

Requirements for the Automation Support Engineer

• Hands‑on electrical fault‑finding experience.
• Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Automation experience within similar environment
• PLC fault‑finding experience.

Desirable Requirements for the Automation Support Engineer

• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
• Previous experience within FMCG, food, beverage or packaging environments.
