Automation Experts in the UK seeking a Controls Manager to lead the Controls Engineering department in Shropshire. You will oversee automation and control software work packages, ensuring projects meet time, budget and quality targets, while developing engineering teams.

The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, 7+ years in delivery or management, and hands-on leadership to drive best practices, supplier relationships, and compliant engineering delivery.

Qualifikationen

• BEng degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in a technical delivery or engineering management role.
• Subject Matter Expert in automation and control system software.
• Proven experience leading, developing or managing engineering teams.
• Strong technical understanding of automation and control systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Lead, manage and develop the Controls Engineering department.
• Oversee delivery of automation and control software work packages to meet time, budget and quality targets.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Applications teams on proposals, estimations and pre-sales activities.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to establish effective delivery plans.
• Manage resource allocation and utilisation across the department.
• Develop and improve software development, testing processes and engineering procedures.
• Establish and maintain supplier/subcontractor relationships to support resources.
• Create and maintain engineering standards, templates and libraries.
• Recruit, train and develop engineers to support growth.
• Monitor performance and audit output for right-first-time delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with regulations.
