Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Automation / Controls Engineer to maintain and improve automated production systems within a manufacturing environment. The role involves diagnosing PLC faults, supporting upgrades, and collaborating with maintenance and production teams to enhance safety and efficiency.

The successful candidate will have strong electrical/controls knowledge, experience with PLC fault-finding, and the ability to read electrical drawings. Monday to Friday, days only.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong electrical and controls knowledge.
• Experience with PLC fault-finding and programming.
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Relevant electrical/engineering qualifications are desirable.

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an Automation / Controls Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in maintaining, improving and developing automated production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, fault-find and improve automated manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls and PLC faults.
• Support automation projects, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives and industrial control systems.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and production teams.
• Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical and controls/automation knowledge.
• Experience with PLC fault-finding and programming.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Relevant electrical/engineering qualifications are desirable.

This role is working Monday - Friday - Days only (8:00am - 16:00pm.)
