What You'll Be Doing

As an Automation Control Engineer, you will report to the Head of Electrical and manage the day-to-day maintenance of the cement plant control and software systems to ensure high levels of programming integrity. You will be responsible for the safe modification and maintenance of plant automation and control systems by ensuring robust specifications, application programming, testing, and commissioning are in place. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Preventing downtime due to control system faults
2. Supporting the installation of new plant equipment from conception to operation
3. Assuring the integration of new systems into plant operations
4. Assisting the Head of Electrical with the development, review, and implementation of control systems Standard Operating Procedures
5. Ensuring a robust risk assessment process exists to understand the necessary control measures
6. Working on the development of server virtualization to assist with testing program modifications
7. Assisting in the management of new CAPEX projects and supporting their commissioning
8. Ensuring control and software systems are managed using a continuous improvement methodology

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

• A minimum qualification level of an Electrical Engineering HNC or equivalent
• Experience in PLC Programming and DCS Systems
• The ability to develop close working relationships with control room operators to assist with system control issues and queries
• A commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments
• Good communication skills to liaise with other departments and form cross-functional links
