Marmon Lift Recruitment is recruiting an Automatic Door Engineer for its client in South London. The role focuses on service, maintenance and repair of automatic door systems across commercial and industrial sites.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience with automatic doors, plus knowledge of roller shutters or gates is advantageous. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on automatic door systems.
• Experience with service, maintenance and reactive breakdown visits.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills and safety awareness.
• Willingness to travel across the South London region and beyond.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair automatic door systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive visits.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and safely.
• Occasionally work on roller shutters or gate systems when required.
• Complete minor installations and upgrades where required.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
• Participate in the on-call rota.

Marmon Lift Recruitment is working with a well‑established independent entrance systems company seeking to recruit an Automatic Door Engineer to join its growing engineering team in South London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Automatic Door Engineer to join a respected business offering long‑term career progression, ongoing technical development, and a varied workload across commercial and industrial sites.

The majority of work focuses on automatic doors, with experience in roller shutters and gates considered highly advantageous.

Engineers with at least 1 year of experience in automatic doors are encouraged to apply. Candidates with additional experience working on roller shutters, gates, revolving doors, industrial doors, or high‑speed doors will also be considered.

Commutable from: Redhill, Caterham, Oxted, Crawley, Horley, Epsom, Leatherhead, Dorking, Coulsdon, Warlingham, Purley, and surrounding areas.

Automatic Door Engineer Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and repair automatic door systems
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown visits
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and safely
• Work primarily on automatic doors, with occasional work on roller shutters and gate systems where required
• Complete minor installation and upgrade works where required
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation
• Participate in the on‑call rota

The Ideal Automatic Door Engineer:

• At least 1 year of experience working on automatic doors - ESSENTIAL
• Experience working on roller shutters and/or gate systems - ADVANTAGEOUS
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills - ESSENTIAL
• EN16005 certification - DESIRABLE
• BS7036 / DHF qualifications - DESIRABLE
• Good customer-facing and communication skills - ESSENTIAL
• Flexible approach to travel across the South London region - ESSENTIAL
• Full UK Driving Licence - ESSENTIAL
