Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking an AutoCAD Technician in Manchester to support an established MEP Building Services consultancy. You’ll produce and develop CAD drawing packages, focusing on mechanical and electrical layouts, pipework and ductwork, and coordinated drawings across RIBA stages.

Revit skills are a plus as the team grows and project needs evolve. You’ll join a busy team with a strong client reputation and varied sector experience, from healthcare to offices.

AutoCAD Technician | Building Services (MEP) | Manchester | circa £40,000

An established MEP Building Services consultancy is looking for an AutoCAD Technician to join its team. Workload is high, and this is a chance to join a consultancy with a varied project portfolio that has a strong reputation with its clients.

The role

You'll support the engineering team by producing and developing CAD drawing packages across a range of projects. This includes:

• Producing mechanical and electrical design drawings in AutoCAD from engineers' markups and sketches
• Preparing pipework, ductwork and services layouts, plus coordinated drawing packages
• Working closely with design engineers, so you'll need to understand what the drawings represent as well as how to draw them
• Maintaining drawing standards, revisions and issue records
• Picking up Revit alongside AutoCAD where project needs require it but growing your skillset alongside the capability of the business to deliver these projects.
• Working across RIBA Stages 3/4/5 and have a good understanding of as built designs.

About you

• Building Services experience as a CAD Technician using AutoCAD.
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Sound knowledge of the engineering side of Building Services, including how mechanical and electrical systems are laid out
• Good communication skills and a positive, proactive approach, as you'll work directly with engineers
• Revit experience is desirable but not essentialProjects

Package

Salary circa £40,000, depending on experience plus benefits package

Minimum of 1 working day in the office and willingness to do more when required.
