Autism Support Worker

Aspire People are recruiting for multiple posts across Primary schools in and around Greater Manchester, covering long-term staffing needs such as maternity cover, staffing gaps, and additional funding, as well as short-term roles like emergency and course cover.

Currently, a primary school with an SEN Provision in Manchester, M11, seeks additional support staff to start ASAP. They are keen to hire Level 2 qualified support staff on a full-time basis (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm). The Level 2 qualification does not need to be specific to schools; qualifications in teaching, learning, or teaching assistant are acceptable. As an ASC Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils throughout the school day
• Supporting pupils in the specialist provision
• Incorporating sensory activities into learning
• Assisting pupils with speech, language, and communication development
• Considering each pupil's choices, needs, and wishes, and encouraging appropriate learning decisions

This provision caters to pupils with needs related to MLD, SLCN, ASC, and associated challenging behaviors. Experience working with challenging individuals in sectors such as care, support work, residential, or youth work is valued, though not mandatory if you have a passion for education and supporting pupils with SEN.
