Job description

Autism Support Worker

Primary School in the Greater Manchester area M11
Full-time roles available (8.30am-3.30pm)
Start date: ASAP May 2025
End date: Ongoing (long-term role)

Aspire People are recruiting for multiple positions across primary schools in and around the Greater Manchester area, including long-term cover (e.g., maternity leave, staffing gaps, additional funding) and short-term cover (e.g., emergency, course cover).

A primary school with an SEN provision in Manchester, M11, is seeking additional support staff to start ASAP. The school is interested in Level 2 qualified support staff for full-time roles (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm). The Level 2 qualification does not need to be specific to schools; qualifications in teaching, learning, or assisting are acceptable. If interested, please contact us to learn more!

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils throughout the school day
  • Assist pupils within the specialist provision
  • Incorporate sensory activities into learning
  • Support speech, language, and communication development
  • Respect and consider each pupil's choices, needs, and wishes, encouraging appropriate learning decisions

This provision caters to pupils with needs related to MLD, SLCN, ASC, and associated challenging behaviors. Due to the environment's challenging nature, experience working with challenging individuals—whether in care, support work, residential settings, or youth work—is preferred but not mandatory. Passion for education and making a positive impact on pupils with SEN is essential.

Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and Employment Business. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare. All candidates will undergo Child Protection screening, including checks with previous employers and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
