Job summary

Academics in Milton Keynes is seeking a dedicated School Support Worker to assist learners with autism and communication challenges in a nurturing setting. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, helping non-verbal learners access education with structured activities and care.

The role requires compassion, patience and empathy, with a full-time daytime schedule. Start in September, with pay determined by experience and the client’s policy.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
• Available full-time between 8:30am and 3:30pm.
• Experience supporting autistic/non-verbal learners, ideally in schools or care settings.
• Comfortable providing personal and intimate care.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach to helping young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with autism and additional needs.
• Assist non-verbal students with communication, sensory activities and learning tasks.
• Offer personal and intimate care as required.
• Follow individual learning and care plans to help learners reach potential.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and professionals to create a positive environment.
