St Christopher's School in Wrexham is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support learners with Autism and sensory processing needs. You will work with teachers and specialists to apply tailored strategies, promote engagement, and support well-being.

This permanent role is 32.5 hours per week over 38 weeks per year plus 2 training days. A compassionate, patient approach and experience in a specialist setting are essential for safeguarding and inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with Autism and sensory processing difficulties.
• Understanding of teaching strategies for learners with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-to-one and group support to students with complex Autism, communication difficulties and sensory processing needs.
• Assist with the development and delivery of personalised learning plans, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
• Support students in both academic and non-academic activities, including personal care and Hydrotherapy session, fostering independence and life skills.
• Use positive behaviour support techniques to encourage and motivate students.
• Help create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.
• Support students during sensory regulation activities.
