Job summary

Axcis Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support two Year 3 pupils with Autism at a mainstream primary school in Southville, Bristol. The role is full-time, term-time only, starting November 2026, with a long-term placement through the academic year.

You will deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group support, adapt activities for accessibility, and work with the SENCO and school team to promote inclusion, independence and positive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism or SEND in a school setting.
• Patient, calm and compassionate approach to pupils.
• Ability to build strong relationships with primary pupils and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group Support for two Year 3 pupils with Autism.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs and access learning.
• Support communication, social interaction, and independence throughout the day.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and school team for consistent support.
• Help create a calm, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
