Job summary

Aspris is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Fromefield Manor School in Frome, Somerset. You will support teachers in delivering bespoke, person-centred curriculums for learners aged 11-19 with autism and complex needs within a Total communication environment.

The ideal candidate has ASDAN experience, supports post-16 learners, and communicates well with pupils, families and staff. Hours 8.30am-4pm, Monday–Friday, term-time only.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading an ASDAN programme.
• Experience of supporting post-16 students.
• Excellent communication to establish relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
• Strong organisational abilities and ability to manage individualised plans.
• Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for learners, teachers and the school to raise achievement.
• Teach classes that are structured, interesting and motivating.
• Promote inclusion and equal access to learning opportunities.
• Implement behaviour management in line with school policies.
• Monitor and evaluate learner progress and provide feedback.
• Mentor and support other learning support assistants.
