Job summary

Meadowcroft School in Wakefield is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and additional learning needs. You will work alongside experienced teachers and therapists to create a safe, engaging classroom environment where every child can progress.

Role involves one-to-one support, small group work, and assistance with personalised learning plans. Term-time only and permanent contracts apply, with start in September 2026 and a full-time 42.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with Autism or additional learning needs.
• Patient, caring and passionate about helping every child succeed.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one, in small groups and in class to meet learning goals.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences.
• Encourage communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and resilience.
• Assist with IEPs, BSPs, and personalised learning strategies.
