Autism Support Worker – SEN Schools (Royston / Meldreth, Hertfordshire)

Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism and Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are seeking full-time Autism Support Workers to work in one of our client schools in Royston / Meldreth.

This role offers the chance to make a real impact, providing essential classroom support and helping children with SEND reach their full potential.

About the Role:

As an Autism Support Worker, you will work within specialist school settings, supporting students with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to help students engage with learning.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering a tailored curriculum that meets individual needs.
  • Encouraging communication and social development through structured interventions.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and helping students manage sensory needs.
  • Creating a safe, positive learning environment where all students feel valued.

The Ideal Candidate

Experienced – Background in SEN, Autism support, or care work is desirable.
Patient & Understanding – Able to build trusting relationships with students.
Resilient & Adaptable – Can respond calmly to challenging behaviours.
Passionate About SEN – Committed to making a difference in children’s lives.
Team Player – Works well alongside teachers, therapists, and school staff.

Hours are full-time and term time only. Monday to Friday 8:30am - 16:30pm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
