Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is seeking an Autism Support Worker in Wakefield to work across mainstream schools, specialist provisions and SEN settings. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils access learning and develop communication and social skills.

You will build positive relationships with pupils, encourage independence and work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support emotional regulation.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting autism or other additional needs is desirable.
  • All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced DBS check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
  • Flexible supply, short-term and long-term opportunities in Wakefield.

Role: Autism Support

Contract: Flexible supply, short-term and long-term opportunities

Pay: £92.63 - £ £120 per day ( Dependijng on qualifacations and experience)

Start Date: September 2026

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)?

Protocol Education is looking for caring, patient and dedicated Autism Support Workers to work across mainstream schools, specialist provisions and SEN settings in Wakefield.

The Role
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support
  • Help pupils access learning and classroom activities
  • Support communication and social development
  • Encourage independence and confidence
  • Assist with emotional regulation
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff

Experience supporting autism or other additional needs is desirable, but we also welcome applicants with relevant transferable experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
