Job Description:

Academics Ltd is working with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Swindon that is seeking a Teaching Assistant – Autism Specialist. This full-time role is to start as soon as possible and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

This position is ideal for someone looking to further their experience as an Autism Specialist within a secondary school environment. You’ll play a vital role in supporting students with autism, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

The Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ASC
  • Implement individual learning strategies tailored to each student’s specific needs
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals
  • Promote independence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
  • Help maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
  • Proven experience supporting children or young people with ASC, preferably in a school setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
