Job summary

Hanson Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant with Autism experience in Bristol. The role supports pupils with ASD across primary and secondary ages during term-time, with both part-time and full-time options and school hours.

You will plan and deliver learning activities, differentiate approaches, and assist students to access the curriculum. A Level 2/3 TA qualification or equivalent SEN/Social Care background is required, with a strong SEND focus.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or Equivalent qualifications in areas of SEN, Autism, Social Care
• A strong academic or work background with Special Educational Needs

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver learning activities to children and young people, differentiating and using specialist approaches according to needs
• Support students with ASD to fulfil their academic potential
• Help all pupils, especially those with ASD, participate in school life and build confidence
• Keep records and evaluate student progress
• Assist in developing and implementing support plans
• Prepare students for tasks (e.g., pre-teaching)
• Supervise practical tasks
• Carry out structured classroom assessment/observation and feedback outcomes
• Assist scholars with physical needs
• Under supervision, assist with physical development, speech/language development, and medical needs identified in care plans
