Job summary

Moulsecoomb Primary School invites applications for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join The Roost, our ASC facility supporting autistic children. The role is term time only (39 weeks) with full-time hours Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:20, providing a calm, structured environment and helping pupils with their learning and emotional needs.

The Roost offers a nurturing setting, flexible activities to meet diverse needs, and opportunities to reintegrate pupils into mainstream classes where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism.
• Calm, patient, and adaptable.
• Works well as part of a team and is willing to learn.
• Committed to helping every child thrive.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning within the classroom.
• Work with small groups or individual pupils to meet their learning and emotional needs.
• Help create a calm, structured, and supportive environment.
• Assist with preparation of resources.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and The Roost community.
