Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist autism and SEND school in West London (Chiswick). The role is full-time, term-time only, with a daily rate of 110-130 GBP, providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Autism and SEND.

You will work with teachers to deliver differentiated learning, promote communication and independence, and help pupils meet EHCP outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, Autism or additional needs.
  • Previous experience as a SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, LSA or similar is desirable.
  • Patient, calm and empathetic approach with strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of SEN support, behaviour management and differentiated learning.
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, visual supports or sensory strategies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Autism and SEND.
  • Support learning through differentiated and personalised activities.
  • Promote communication, social skills, emotional regulation and independence.
  • Support positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with teachers and other professionals to support EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
