Job summary

Academics is recruiting in Slough for an Autism Intervention Support Assistant to join a caring primary school from September 2026. The role involves 1:1 and small group interventions, supporting emotional wellbeing and engagement for pupils on the autism spectrum.

You will collaborate with teachers and the SENCO, monitor progress, and help create a calm, inclusive environment. The salary is £92.59–£95 per day, with full-time, long-term commitment and opportunities to develop skills in education

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to support emotional wellbeing in a school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with Autism.
• Support emotional regulation, resilience and coping strategies.
• Build trusted relationships to encourage confidence and engagement in learning.
• Monitor progress and contribute to individual support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, parents and external agencies for consistent support.
• Promote positive behaviour and create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
