Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with autism or SEND.
• Ability to connect with pupils through empathetic, patient approaches.
• Experience adapting learning activities to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist, support and implement the school's vision and ethos.
• Motivate pupils using autism approaches and strategies.
• Provide a good role model for students.
• Support teaching and learning, including delivery of accredited courses.
• Support assessment, recording and reporting processes.
• Work with students requiring additional support using autism strategies.
• Provide curriculum teaching support and collate progression evidence.
• Ensure pupils make progress across learning, behaviour, personal and social development.
• Assist with target setting and data collection.
• Support teachers and staff, enabling professional development and raised standards.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate curriculum material under guidance.
• Ensure health and safety, safeguarding and pupil well-being.
• Supervise at start/end of day, breaks, lunch and PE sessions.
• Liaise with parents and carers.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the Head Teacher.
