Job summary

Apex Educ8 is seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist school in Ealing, West London. You will provide tailored support to students aged 4-19 with autism and an associated learning difficulty, helping them engage in activities and develop confidence throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
• Understanding of autism and the support students with additional learning needs may require.
• Patience, empathy and a calm, consistent approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to complete the necessary safeguarding and compliance checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to students with autism and associated learning difficulties.
• Support students with classroom activities, communication and engagement in learning.
• Follow individual learning plans and guidance from teaching staff.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage students to develop their independence, confidence and social skills.
• Support positive behaviour and follow the school's safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and other support staff about students' needs and progress.
